| What is "the scene"? | |
| That is a pretty vast thing to explain. You may visit Remedy SceneZone and start from there. The scene today is well represented on the web and the following sites is a good styarting point for more information: www.scene.org - The archive, the portal, the starting point. Here you will find all demos released at parties and many parties choose to have scene.org as their only final archive. www.hornet.org - Historical archive which was frozen 1998. Hornet consists of old productions and it is a good source of what used to be. www.ojuice.net - A broad community, database and BBS of members, groups and parties on the scene. It is also a good place to find other demoparties. www.pouet.net - A forum and BBS for demoproductions, not very complete och it has very "special" people. | |
| Is it OK to bring my speakers to Remedy ? | |
| Yes, we allow speakers during Remedy Scenezone. By speakes we mean standard speakers that you have to your soundsystem at home. Forget the PA stuff att home. | |
| What is a LAN-party ? | |
| A LAN-party is a gathering where people that have a common computer interest meets and have fun. You meet people/friends that you have meet/chatted with on the internet. Meet new friends Play network games, hopefully learn some new stuff (programming, design, gaming) In short you meet people and have fun. | |
| How long does a LAN-party last ? | |
| From 2 to 5 days, the most common is 3 - 4 days. | |
| Is there room for everybody ? | |
| We have room for 500 persons with computer. To be quaranteed a seat You must buy Your ticket in advance by using our prebookingsystem. | |
| Can I or do I need to pay the entrance fee in advance ? | |
| Just like last year we will have a prebooking system. You can also buy You ticket when You arrive but we can't give You any guaranties that there is a seat left for You. | |
| Where do I sign up/reserv a seat ? | |
| You do that by clicking on the "ticket service" button in the menu to the left. | |
| Does the 400 SEK entrance fee cover all 4 days ? | |
| Of course, otherwise it would be shamelessly expensive. | |
| Is there an minimum age to get in ? | |
| No, there is no age limit, you don't even have to be interested in computers, but it will certainly be more fun if you are. If you are a minor, it's good to have permission from your parents. | |
| Do I have to bring my own computer ? | |
| No, you don't. But you will have more fun if you bring a computer with you. Be sure to have a 10/100BaseT (TP) network card in your computer, so that you can hook it up to the network | |
| What type of network card/cables should I bring ? | |
| We will use a TP (Twisted Pair, 10/100Base-T) based network. | |
| How long network cable(s) should I bring ? | |
| Recommended is 10 meters and above, normal straight connected TP cables. | |
| Can I rent a computer or a monitor at Remedy ? | |
| No, we don't have the possibility to rent or lend out any equipment. | |
| Is it OK to drink alcholic beverage inside Remedy ? | |
| No, we won't tolerate any alcholic inside the partyplace. Intoxicated people, they will be thrown out on sight. | |
| Is it OK to smoke inside Remedy ? | |
| No, we won't tolerate any smoking inside the partyplace, if you have to smoke you'll have to do it outside.. | |
| Will it be possible to take a shower ? | |
| Yes, there is 16 showers available. | |
| Can I sleep at the party place, does it cost extra? | |
| Yes, you can sleep at the party place, no extra charge. Bring a sleeping bag. There is a separete sleeping hall available for this purpose. | |
| Will you have guards running around, so that I can safetly bring my computer ? | |
| No, we will not have any guards hired. The best way to be safe, is to sit among your friends/people you trust/know. If you do this there will propably always be someone you know around your stuff, since everybody don't sleep/eat/shower at the same time. We don't take any responsibility for the attenders belongings. We haven't had any problems with theft during the previous 8-9 partys that we arranged. As long as you are among your friends there should be no problem. | |
| Will you have any beverage/snacks for sale ? | |
| Yes, we will have a wide variety of snacks and beverage (only non-alcoholic) Jolt-Cola, Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Red Bull, Battery, Chips in different flavors and alot of other snacks. And of course we will have low prices. | |
| Is there anywhere to eat in the neighborhood ? | |
| Yes aprox 500 meter from the partyplace, there is a hamburger place (MAX), 24H open gas station where they have all kinds of microwave food, McDonalds that is open till 24.00. And you will of course get a discount from MAX since you are a Remedy visitor. | |
